Little Man turns One!

This little guy recently moved to Tennessee and I had the pleasure of meeting his mommy just in time to take his one year pics! We met at a local park and it was a perfect setting for pictures. He was such a happy boy and we had such a great time! He even did a cake smash at the end and it made some great portraits. Here is a sneak peak of the session...

Little Princess

This little princess had her session in the midst of the Houston heat topping at 100 degrees and she started to sweat towards the end. I don't know how she lasted as long as she did, but she was such a great sport! She had multiple outfit changes and her mom brought some really cute chairs for us to play on. She is so adorable and I love seeing her every time I am back in Houston!

I love this last one...I think she's thinking, "Am I done yet?"

Poster Boys!

I mean it!! These two could be on the cover of a magazine with their cuteness all bundled up! I LOVE these boys and their parents are just the sweetest parents ever! This family is just such a pleasure to be around. I get to see them again in November when I travel back for my holiday sessions and I can't hardly wait.

And He's ONE!

I recently met this family while I was in Houston on my last visit. His mommy really wanted some shots of him and his dog. I have never owned a pet in my life, so I wouldn't consider myself 'good' with animals. I know that I am in the vast minority when it comes to that, but that doesn't mean I dislike pets. I always welcome families to bring along their pets for a family photo shoot if they want them in the photos. I just hope that it is understood I have NO talent for making a pet smile for the camera:) In this case, the dog weighed twice my weight, so I was a bit intimidated:) He was SO well behaved and despite the miserable heat, we got some fantastic shots!

This session will go on record as the hottest session I have ever done breaking the thermometer at a whopping 106 degrees outside. Ouch! What troopers! Normally, I wouldn't have done a session in these conditions, but I was only in town for that day for sessions. It was worth it to get such great pics!

Sweet Innocence

I have known this little girl since she was a newborn and had the pleasure of photographing her through all of her milestones. She is always such a delight and I just adore her mommy too! I found out that she is moving so even if I make it back to Houston for more sessions soon, I will likely not get to see her again:( So this was just as much a farewell session for me as it was a 18 month session for her. I will miss this family so much but wish them lots of luck in their upcoming adventures.
This rocking chair was a special chair that belonged to her great-grandma. She didn't like sitting in it very much, but it was such a beautiful chair to have in these photos as a memory of her loved one!

Fall Fun

These three kiddos are ALWAYS fun to work with and I love seeing what adorable outfits their stylish mom has picked out for their photos! They always look so cute and she has such great ideas. I get to see them again in November and I'm already looking forward to it! Getting a great shot of them all three together is usually a challenge, but we are starting to get it figured out:) Thanks guys for pushing through the heat in your jeans and sleeves and giving me a great session!

Fun at the Park

This little cutie is 2 years old already and I can't believe where time has gone! I photographed her when she was a newborn! Watching her grow over these last 2 years has been such a pleasure and I feel like part of her family. It is the greatest feeling getting to watch babies grow into children and be part of their lives while documenting their growth! I love my job and I really miss being in Houston for this reason! I will really miss watching all of these little ones grow! I hope to continue to travel back so I can have sessions for all of my dedicated clients! I was stuck in traffic for over an hour on my way to this session, so thanks so much to her mommy for understanding and being so flexible!!

Catching Up!

So it's been 2 weeks since my last update and I am so far behind! I have been travelling with my family, so I partially have an excuse:) Anyhow, I have some great sessions to post on from August and September. I am getting ready to create my Christmas card templates for this season as well as organize my first mini sessions in Nashville. I will be travelling back to Houston for a mini session in November so I am super excited for that and to see all of my clients in Houston! Yeah...so much to look forward to in the upcoming months!!

Here is a peak at an absolutely gorgeous family who I shot at their home. On my way there it was POURING down rain and I thought I was going to have to cancel. One of the couples here lives in Denver so it was going to be VERY difficult to get them together again for a session. So, we took some indoor shots in the dark living room...with flash (which I HATE:), and then miraculously the sun came out and we got a few awesome shots outside at the end! I was so happy it stopped raining!!! They turned out great and we had lots of fun!

Another Newborn Beauty

Here is the other newborn beauty that I had the pleasure of working with in Houston last week. She was 3 weeks old here and just as sweet as could be. Her mommy and daddy are from Oklahoma, so they are big OU fans...so I had to get one shot with the OU hat. We transformed her front room in her house into a mini studio and took over. She slept the entire time and was just a natural! Thanks so much Miss T for being such a wonderful model and letting me play with you for a few hours! I will miss you and can't wait to see you again in a couple months!!

PRECIOUS!

I had the pleasure of flying to Houston a couple weeks ago after 2 of my friends had and adopted babies. Both of them-girls-and both of them the cutest and sweetest girls ever! I brought an entire suitcase for just these newborn photos and spent some time at each of their houses just having all kinds of fun. Fortunately these sessions were inside as it was 106 degrees on the Saturday I was there for my outdoor sessions. Those were a bit toasty and steamy. I will post those sessions in the next few days. For now, please enjoy this precious little angel! I am so happy for this family and was so excited the timing worked out that I got to take her newborn photos while I was in town!

These headbands were designed and created by PunkyBear Couture. She has a shop on Etsy and does fantastic work. Here is her Etsy link if you want any headbands.

Vintage Lullaby

This past weekend I met this little guy who was an absolute angel. He was born at a cuddly 9 pounds and I just didn't want to put him down! I have been anxiously awaiting his arrival as he was a few days over his due date. He is just PERFECT. Thanks so much mommy and daddy for letting me into your home to spend the morning photographing your little angel! I attended a seminar on Friday and learned a few new styles of editing that I wanted to experiment with in these photos. I am calling the color method, vintage lullaby (Images 1, 3, 5 below). It gives a soft milky skin tone and a hint of vintage in it's faded color. I really like the way it looks! Leave a comment and let me know what you think!

New Newborn Hats

Coming from a very sports oriented family, I like to cater to my sports loving clients! Since moving to Franklin, TN, I wanted to update my newborn hat collection and these are the teams I have found to be popular to this area. I will always add to my collection upon client requests so if you have any other teams you want me to add, please let me know!
