Sweet Sweet Baby

The McDonald Family visited my studio this past week and I had so much fun working with them and getting to photograph their new little package! Ethan was such a good newborn to photograph and he let me do all kinds of fun poses with him! He was content the entire time and was a 100% natural model! Thanks Ethan...and Kelly & Chris for letting me work with you! You have such a sweetie and so much to look forward to! BTW-Over the holidays, my aunt taught me how to crochet so that I could stop spending money on all my props, hats, cocoons, etc. So-she made this blue set along with a couple others, but now, I am on a role and I have since made them in about every color!! Thanks Cathy!

Little Ashlynn, 3 mos

I know I am long overdue in postings...but since I have been out of town the past 5 weekends, the studio has been closed thus no pics to post! I did manage to squeeze in a few sessions during the week in between travels this past week. I had the pleasure of working with this little doll, Ashlynn. She didn't want to smile unless the camera was put away, but she looks adorable regardless! Thanks Ashlynn for being such a sweet baby to work with and I hope I get to work with you again in the future!!

Bluebonnet Day in March

Hey Everyone! The studio has been closed the last couple of weeks due to me traveling way too much! I will be gone again this weekend so if you would like to make an appointment, please call my studio and leave a message or email me at lauren.simpson@ymail.com.

I am planning on dedicating a day or two in the spring to drive to Brenham and take multiple family/children/senior/engagement/etc. pics in a field of bluebonnets. These will be mini (20 minute) sessions and at a cheaper rate then a regular session.

I am looking at the last weekend in March currently. March 27th. If this is something that might interest you for a Texas tradition or just for the beauty of the bluebonnets, please email and let me know so that I can plan on how much time and how many days to dedicate to this.

Brenham is about 1 1/2 hours from Houston, so you will be responsible for driving there. You can feel free to bring a picnic and/or snacks to have while you are there to enjoy the scenery as well!

The Ultimate Cake Smash!

This little guy is about to turn one and he came to me for his first year pics and the adventure of a cake smash! His mother had no idea he would love smashing the cake as he did! He was cracking us up and really getting into it. He really looked as though he was digging for gold! Here are a few of my favorites! What a doll!!

I can't believe there is any left to get this shot!
Thanks Jack and Happy 1st Birthday next week!!

Tyler Family

The Tyler Family at their ranch.
Yesterday I was asked to go to the Tyler ranch and take some family pics while everyone was in town visiting for the holidays. On my way out there, it started raining cats and dogs and I kept thinking I was going to have to reschedule and/or try some indoor shots with my back-up equipment. I hate doing indoor family pics, so I kept crossing my fingers that the rain would let up just long enough to snap the group shots that Tiffany wanted. Thankfully...after scoping the settings for about 10 minutes, it stopped raining and allowed us to get about an hour or more of shots in! Yeah!! They had some amazing areas for pics...so hopefully I can go back in the spring/summer and take more pics! After the family shots, I spent some time with Amber and Cole, who are newly engaged. We got some adorable engagement shots and they make such a beautiful couple! Here are a few...

Little Sophia B.

I met this little angel in Erica Collin's "Deliver Me Fit Stroller Class" a few months ago. Her mother, Erin, asked me to do her one year pics and time slipped by us and here she is at 15 months old just as cute as could be! Her name is Sophia, like my daughter and they are very close in age...so we will definitely need to spend some time together in the future! Thanks Sophia for letting me take your pictures and you are a doll!

Thanks again also to Mother Nature for giving us another beautiful weekend in Houston in December! We couldn't have gotten these pics had it been nasty out!

Travis 2010

Watch out ladies...this one just stepped off of the the shoot from GQ Magazine!! Travis allowed me to take his senior pics and they couldn't have turned out better! What a GREAT model he was for my growing senior portfolio! Thanks so much Travis!!

Acosta Family

I photographed this GORGEOUS family yesterday afternoon and I was so thankful the weather turned out to be absolutely ideal for a December day in Houston! The camera absolutely LOVED these three boys as well as their beautiful parents! I also took some time with the oldest, Travis, for his senior pics and will post a seperate posting for his pics after this one. We had so much fun and little Preston, age 6, was a natural little model! He was giving me all kinds of poses and having tons of fun! I hope I get to work with this family again in the future!

Family Fun!

I had the pleasure of working with a wonderful family this week and we decided to do 2 sessions instead of cramming it into one with the newborn. Day one: Little Natalie...she did not want pictures taken and it took all of my tricks to get several pics for her mommy to choose from. Natalie is the oldest newborn that I have taken "newborn" pics of at almost 7 weeks old. But, we finally managed to make her happy by putting her in the swing and taking our pics there! That's a first...but it worked and I will definately keep it in mind! She looked like a little angel!
This is her big brother, Grant and he was a little doll!
And of course, her big sis, Audrey...who loved the camera and Sophie! We are looking forward to her coming over and playing with Sophie and taking more fun pics!
Here they are all together...

And the entire fam...we decided to stay indoors for the family shots since Natalie is still so tiny! It was 60 degrees this morning, so still a bit chilly for the kiddos.
Thanks so much Amber for all of your patience and I look forward to working with you and your family again!
